Custom Bending Tool Fabrication for Promecam/Amada UAE

TFI, as a premier designer, manufacturer, and supplier of bending tools and customized fabrication, our PROMECAM/AMADA style punches and dies—also widely recognized as the European Style (Euro Style) system—are the most popular and standardized tooling configurations used in press brakes worldwide. Due to its exceptional flexibility, superior precision, and rapid tool-change capabilities, this system has become the gold standard in the sheet metal fabrication industry.

1. Structural and Design Features

The most defining characteristic of the Amada-Promecam design is its standardized clamping system.

  • Punches: Punches in this design feature a standardized tang with precise dimensions (typically 20 × 8 mm). This tang is equipped with a safety groove (safety click/pin slot) that prevents the punch from accidentally dropping when the clamping beams are released.
  • Dies: Dies in this system generally feature a 60 mm wide base that seats seamlessly onto the press brake bed. These dies are available in both Single-V and Multi-V configurations.

2. Widely Used Punch and Die Types

  • Gooseneck Punches: Engineered for executing deep bends or profiles that require clearance for previously formed flanges (e.g., box and enclosure fabrication).
  • Straight / Acute Punches: Designed for standard bending operations and achieving sharp angles (such as 30° or 45°).
  • Roller Dies: An advanced die variant within this system equipped with rollers on both sides of the V-opening, which significantly minimizes marking and scratching on the sheet metal surface.

3. Material and Manufacturing Process

These tools are typically manufactured from high-grade alloy steels, such as C45. Critical contact zones—specifically the punch tip and the radiused shoulders of the die—undergo induction hardening to achieve a hardness rating of 50 to 60 HRC (Rockwell C). This process drastically enhances the tooling’s wear resistance and operational lifespan.
